Using the online application system

If you are applying for the first time, please create a login account for security purposes. Please note that if you leave the application process unattended for 30 minutes it will time out. In order not to lose your information please make sure you use the ‘save and return’ function. This will allow you to save whatever you have completed and then return to the application at another time. We will not be able to screen your application until you have clicked the submit button.

Making your application

It is a good idea to do research beyond the Standard Bank websites to find out about emerging markets and banking in general. We look for applications that stand out from the crowd – and further research is one way in which you might achieve this. Of course, there are many others too.

When applying, you will be asked to attach supporting documents such as your CV. Please note that each document should not be more than 500KB in size. If you have any problems in attaching your documents please contact us.

With regard to the technical/ knowledge section of the application form questionnaire, please be creative and resourceful in finding the correct answers. For example you could use various search engines and relevant websites to help you.

Recruitment and Selection

Once you have completed and submitted your online application, you will receive an automatic response to confirm receipt of your application. If you do not receive this acknowledgement, it means that you have not clicked on the submit button and you should revisit your application. It will not be lost and you can access your application with your username and password.

Applications will be screened in line with interview dates for your campus – you will receive an email informing you of whether your application has been successful or not. If successful, you will be asked to either attend an interview in person (on campus or at our offices) or by telephone. If you are successful after your first interviews and depending on the programme you have applied for, you may undergo further interviews and/or psychometrics and then will be invited either to final round panel interviews or assessment centres. When we contact you to arrange the first interviews, feel free to ask about the selection process for the specific role that you are being interviewed for.
